The Showcase will take place at the Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House in East Vancouver. The choir will be joined by Marco Marin (drums) and Kellan Benz (bass), and there will be special performances from many of our members, as our very own Songbirds step into the spotlight!
RAIN COAST CHOIR
Rain Coast Choir is a non-auditioned, 5-part Rock/Pop choir based in East Vancouver, BC and led by Joline Baylis. We create fine-tuned vocal arrangements of classic songs and current favourites. Over the years, we’ve sung songs by David Bowie, The Tragically Hip, Fiona Apple, Neil Young, Bahamas, Fleetwood Mac, Bruce Springsteen and more!
This season we have chosen songs based on themes of friendship, together and connection. We can’t wait to share in the cozy community spirit at the Better Together Showcase.
JACK GARTON
Enchanting audiences in British Columbia for many years as a musician and theater artist, Jack Garton’s show is a rocking, sultry and fresh blend of roots, blues and doo-wop. Featured recently in Western Canada Theatre’s production of Chelsea Hotel: The Songs Of Leonard Cohen, and fresh from recording a new full-length album with Vancouver surf legends Kitty and the Rooster, Jack is thrilled and honoured to be presenting his songs to live audiences again in summer 2022.
LOGAN AND NATHAN
Vancouver-based duo Logan and Nathan invite you to a tender freak-folk dance of early love and passion. The couple's music meets at the confluence of Nathan Turner's west coast salt-water swagger and Logan Thackray's wild Rocky mountain meltwater. Guitar and banjo duel, vocals are shared and swapped, and lyrics are filled with intimacy, longing and self-doubt.
GIVE THE GIFT OF SONG
After over 2 years apart, we are grateful to once again have a safe and supportive place for people to connect and share in our special Rain Coast Choir community.
It is important to us that we keep choir accessible for all our members. Beginning next season, we plan to offer bursaries for people experiencing barriers. Your support helps us provide more opportunities for people to experience the joy of singing and the benefits of connection with a warm and inspiring community.
By purchasing a ticket to the Better Together Showcase, you are helping us to grow our vibrant choir community and continue to offer a safe space for singers of all backgrounds to explore their love of music and singing.
