This season we will focus on reuniting our amazing community, reconnecting with each other and our voices. We have all been through so much change and challenge since we last saw each other. We will hold space for whatever comes up as we ground in the familiarity of singing together, and discover the shifts and growth that have occurred.
We will sing songs by Emily King, The Wood Brothers, Billy Joel and more!
Members are encouraged to develop their vocal and musical abilities. Joline Baylis, the choir's director and a professional vocal coach, is passionate about providing the specific support that each singer needs to build confidence and skill. Members are encouraged to follow the guidance provided as we work throughout the season.
This season will be shorter than usual, and we would like to make the best use of the time we have. One way to accomplish this is for singers to learn their parts to the songs on their own, to the best of their ability, using the practice tracks and lyrics provided. This will allow us to focus on fine-tuning the choir's sound during our rehearsal time.
We spend each term working towards a concert at the end of the season, so it is important for members to be up-to-speed with the material as we go. Singers are encouraged to consider the choir a weekly commitment for the duration of the season. This helps create a cohesive group and allows each member to get the most out of the Rain Coast Choir experience!

We will host a performance at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House on Saturday, June 25th to share our songs with our friends and families (provided it is safe to do so).
This season, the “Featured Artists” are our own talented singers! There will be an opportunity for members to step into the spotlight and perform solo or small-group ensemble pieces of their choosing.
If you are a musician or songwriter with a story to tell, or would just like to get together with a few fellow Songbirds to prepare something special to sing, this will be your chance to shine!
We encourage you to choose songs that convey themes of reunion, connection, gratitude and acceptance, to fit the tone of the end-of-season performance.
You will have an opportunity to indicate your interest in performing when you complete the registration form.
