The focus of this season will be celebrating our wonderful community and reflecting on the importance of friendship and connection in our lives. We will continue to explore our voices, developing increased comfort and confidence in our singing and expression, and find new ways to sing together in beautiful balanced harmony.
We will sing songs by The Beach Boys, Bill Withers, The Cranberries, and more!
Members are encouraged to develop their vocal and musical abilities. Joline Baylis, the choir's director and a professional vocal coach, is passionate about providing the specific support that each singer needs to build confidence and skill. Members are encouraged to follow the guidance provided as we work throughout the season.
In order to be able to sing as many songs as we can this season, we would like to make the best use of the time we have. One way to accomplish this is for singers to learn their parts to the songs on their own to the best of their ability, using the practice tracks and lyrics provided. This allows us to focus on crafting and fine-tuning the choir's sound during our rehearsal time.
We spend each term working towards a concert at the end of the season, so it is important for members to be up-to-speed with the material as we go. Singers are encouraged to consider the choir a weekly commitment for the duration of the season. This helps create a cohesive group and allows each member to get the most out of the Rain Coast Choir experience!

We will host a performance at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House on Saturday, December 10, 2022 to share our songs with our friends and families (provided we feel it is safe to do so, and there are no provinicial mandates prohibiting us).
The theme of the show will be a reflection on the importance of friendship, togetherness, and community.
We will be featuring our own talented singers performing "Spotlight Songs" throughout the show. These will be an opportunity for members to step into the spotlight and perform solo or small group ensemble pieces of their choosing.
If you are a musician, songwriter with a story to tell, or would just like to get together with a few fellow Songbirds and prepare something special to sing, this will be your chance to shine!
We encourage you to choose songs that express themes of friendship, togetherness and community, to fit with the tone of the end-of-season performance.
You will have an opportunity to indicate your interest in performing when you complete the registration form.
